WhatsApp New Features: Android Users Might Soon Be Able To Mark All Chats As Read At Once

WABetaInfo has said that the instant messaging platform is working on a new tool with the aim of making the handling of chats much easier than before.

A feature tracker has recently reported that the Meta owned WhatsApp might be in works to release a new option which will let Android users mark all chats as read simultaneously through a new shortcut. As for now, this feature has been spotted in a beta version of the app and it is possible that it might not be available to all at the moment. This new feature for Android users is likely to be akin to the 'Mark Read' feature on the iOS version, which updates the status from unread to read.

This new feature is expected to be a part of the ongoing enhancements for the instant messaging platform.

WhatsApp New Feature For Android Users

WABetaInfo, which is a website that tracks new udpates and features on WhatsApp, has said that the instant messaging platform is working on a new tool with the aim of making handling of chats much easier than before. In the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.18.11, this feature was seen by WABetaInfo. This feature, when introduced, will let users mark all of their messages as 'Read' at once.

WABetaInfo shared a screenshot as per which it appears that this new feature will be located in the overflow menu in the upper right corner of the screen. It would appear next to the 'Starred' messages option. Right now if you wish to mark all of your WhatsApp messages as read on your Android device then you will have to follow a few steps which will include picking out every inbox one by one and then selecting the 'Mark as read' option. This new tool could clean up that process and make it go much more quickly.

The feature tracker has added that this shortcut is still being developed due to which it might not be available even to the people who are beta testers as per the Google Play Beta program.
