WhatsApp New Feature: AI-Powered Image Editor Might Soon Make Way To Your Android & iOS Devices

According to a report, the latest beta update for Android, version 2.24.7.13, includes foundational code for the AI-driven image editor.

WhatsApp is currently engaged in the development of an innovative feature that will empower users to enhance their images using an AI-driven editing tool. This forthcoming functionality is anticipated to provide users with the ability to make a variety of adjustments to their images, including modifying backgrounds, restyling elements, or expanding the image size, all through the power of artificial intelligence.

As reported by WABetaInfo, a trusted source for tracking and uncovering new features on WhatsApp, the latest beta update for Android, version 2.24.7.13, includes foundational code for the AI-driven image editor. While this feature remains in the developmental phase, it has not yet been made available for testing by users participating in the beta program.

A sneak peek provided by WABetaInfo through a screenshot showcases an initial iteration of the feature within the image-sending interface of WhatsApp for Android. An identifiable green icon positioned adjacent to the HD icon presents users with selectable options such as Backdrop, Restyle, and Expand, each holding potential for unique image editing capabilities, although specific details regarding their functionalities are yet to be disclosed.

WhatsApp To Let Users Chat With Meta AI Via Search Box Only

Furthermore, in the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.24.7.14, another noteworthy feature has been uncovered by WABetaInfo. This new functionality allows users to engage directly with the Meta AI service through the search bar, further enriching the app's AI-driven capabilities and expanding its potential for user assistance and interaction.

It's important to mention that both of these features are currently in the development phase. Therefore, even if you update to the latest version of the app, you won't have the opportunity to try them out just yet. These features are undergoing refinement and enhancement and will first be made available to testers on the beta channel before being released to all users. Additionally, they are anticipated to be introduced to iOS users as well, ensuring that both mobile platforms have feature parity.
