WhatsApp May Soon Let You Manually Change App Language

Meta-owned WhatsApp is working to introduce a feature that will let users manually change the app's language.

New Delhi: Meta-owned WhatsApp is working to introduce a feature that will let users manually change the app's language. The feature will essentially work by letting the user manually override the system default, according to WhatsApp beta tracker, WABetaInfo. The world's most popular messaging platform, WhatsApp is already available in more than 60 languages for Android devices.

The messaging platform is also rolling out emoji reactions feature for Android beta users.

"In the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.3 update, WhatsApp is now developing a new feature that allows the user to manually select the language of the app, for a future update," WABetaInfo wrote on its page.

The beta WhatsApp tracking site added further details along with a screenshot that showed there will be a new option available in WhatsApp settings called “App language”. When users select “App language”, the messaging platform will present all supported languages from the application. A similar feature is already available in certain countries such as India, but WhatsApp will let people choose all supported languages in all countries globally via a future update.

"The feature is under development, so it will be released at a later date. Be sure to frequently visit our website to learn more about new WhatsApp updates!," WABetaInfo added.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, the WhatsApp tracking site had mentioned that WhatsApp was working to introduce a new feature that will let both iOS and Android users set cover photos on WhatsApp profiles, similar to what Facebook users can already do.
