WhatsApp Data Transfer From Android To iPhone Now Possible: Everything You Should Know
Meta-owned WhatsApp has finally made it possible to transfer WhatsApp data from Android devices to iOS or Apple devices.
Meta-owned WhatsApp has finally made it possible to transfer WhatsApp data from Android devices to iOS or Apple devices, company CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Tuesday. With this, the world's most popular messaging platform has made it possible to transfer all WhatsApp data, including chat history, photos, videos and voice messages from Android devices to iPhones with end-to-end encryption.
WhatsApp has more than 450 million users in India and the ability to seamlessly switch data from Android to iOS will be greatly appreciated by users.
"We're adding to WhatsApp the ability to securely switch between phones and transfer your chat history, photos, videos, and voice messages between Android and iPhone while maintaining end-to-end encryption. This is a top requested feature. We launched the ability to switch from iPhone-->Android last year, and now adding Android-->iPhone as well," Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page.
This development comes a year after the Meta-owned messaging platform had introduced the ability to switch chat data from iOS to Android devices. According to WhatsApp beta tracking site Wabetainfo, the newly-announced iOS 16 is not compatible with the new feature WhatsApp is rolling out. While the feature will be available on Android devices running at least Android 5.0, Apple users on a minimum iOS 15.5 will be able to use the ability.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is working to introduce a feature that has been much sought after by a lot of users on the platform. The feature will bring the ability to exit WhatsApp groups without notifying every member with a small message inside the group, according to WABetaInfo. This comes days after the company increased the group size limit to 512 people.
