Twitter Officially Rolls Out Paid Blue Tick Verification Service, iOS Users Get Option
Elon Musk recently announced that in order to own a verification badge on the microblogging site will cost USD 8.
Just days after announcing a monetary charge for the Twitter blue tick verification badge and amid mass layoffs, the paid feature of the $7.99 verification service is being officially rolled out. Twitter's new iOS version release on Saturday included the initial launch of the new Twitter Blue subscription.
The latest update on the Apple App Store says you have to pay for Twitter Blue to get verified on the microblogging site.
"Power to the people: Your account will get a blue checkmark, just like the celebrities, companies, and politicians you already follow,” Twitter said in the latest Apple App Store update.
The updated version on iOS also clarified that Twitter Blue with verification is currently available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
“Starting today, we’re adding great new features to Twitter Blue, and have more on the way soon. Get Twitter Blue for $7.99/month if you sign up now," the latest update on the Twitter app for iPhones said.

However, Esther Crawford, product manager at Twitter, said the new Twitter Blue with verification "isn't live yet" but some users will be witnessing the updates because of "testing and pushing changes in real-time.”
The new Blue isn’t live yet — the sprint to our launch continues but some folks may see us making updates because we are testing and pushing changes in real-time. The Twitter team is legendary. 🫡 New Blue… coming soon! https://t.co/ewTSTjx3t7
