Carl Zeiss India, the local subsidiary of the renowned German optics and technology company, has announced plans to commence lens production in India starting June 2025, says a report by The Hindu. The company has secured a 35-acre plot from Karnataka's industrial development authority and is investing approximately Rs 2,500 crore to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This new plant is anticipated to be one of Carl Zeiss's largest worldwide, with capabilities to produce a wide range of lenses, including those for eyewear, cinematography, and photography. This significant investment marks a major expansion of Carl Zeiss's operations in India, potentially boosting the country's manufacturing capabilities in high-precision optics and related technologies.

Google Discover Now Gets Own Games
For several months, Google has been enhancing the "your space" section of Discover, and it now features games. As per a report in 9to5 Google, a new "Today's Teaser" card among other widgets for weather, air quality, sports, and finance was spotted. The "Customise your space" menu describes this as "Games with new content daily."
