International Museum Expo: Tagbin Introduces 'Teleportation Bus' Group VR Experience, Showcasing Himachali Culture

The groundbreaking technology behind this experience is called Group VR, which provides panoramic views of the content inside the moving bus.

New Delhi: Tagbin, a Gurugram-based tech-experiential company, debuted a unique group VR-focused experience, dubbed the Tagbin Teleportation Bus, at the International Museum Expo 2023, held at Pragati Maidan from May 18 to May 20. The experience showcased the rich culture and diversity of Himachal Pradesh, particularly Spiti and Shimla, through a never-before-seen virtual reality (VR) experience. Unlike traditional VR setups, visitors were immersed in the virtual world without the need for headsets, attracting people of all ages. The bus offered a unique and captivating journey through time and space, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.

Notable figures such as Joint Secretary Mugdha Sinha and Superintendent ICF Hansel Aubert were among the visitors who were amazed by the immersive experience provided by Tagbin. Representatives from the Indian Navy, Ministry of Culture, and Indian Railways also boarded the bus, providing valuable feedback to enhance the overall experience.

The groundbreaking technology behind this experience is called Group VR, which provides panoramic views of the content inside the moving bus. The synchronised movements of the physical and virtual buses created a seamless and natural connection between the visitors' experience and the content presented. Aligning with the expo's theme, "Museums, Sustainability, and Well-Being," the teleportation bus embodied Tagbin's commitment to promoting sustainability.

The bus featured immersive content on all four sides, including the sunroof, making it a versatile solution for various industries. It catered to sectors such as tourism, entertainment, real estate, education, rehabilitation, space exploration, and product marketing, among others. The bus's seating capacity initially accommodated 18 people, with dimensions of 8.8mx2.4m, which could be customised as per specific requirements and content displayed. Equipped with 4K transparent screens powered by high-end GPU and CPU systems, the bus ensured a high-quality visual experience. Additionally, the screens and servers were equipped with shockproof mechanisms to ensure durability.

On the third day of the expo, a panel discussion was held, inviting ecosystem enablers from various fields. Saurav Bhaik, the CEO and Founder of Tagbin, along with representatives from organisations such as the Kala Ghoda Association, DRONAH, DAG Museums, Kolkata Centre for Creativity, Lord Cultural Resources, Design Factory, and Vama Communications, participated as speakers. The panel focused on the fusion of art, architecture, design, and technology and its role in creating a modern ecosystem of museums, galleries, experiential centres, and multicultural spaces.

Expressing his thoughts, Tagbin founder and CEO Saurav Bhaik emphasised the need for museums to evolve into living spaces. He believes that museums should no longer serve solely as repositories of the past, but rather embrace the present and actively shape the future. Bhaik highlighted the importance of interactive experiences for visitors, stating that the teleportation bus exemplifies how technology seamlessly integrates to offer unparalleled experiences that transcend time and space. The bus serves as a medium for cultural exchange, enabling people to bridge geographical boundaries, embrace diverse traditions, and foster empathy in previously unimaginable ways.

In addition to the teleportation bus, Tagbin showcased other installations during the expo. The Hall of Fame displayed Tagbin's other projects, while the RFID Installation demonstrated their bespoke technological solutions. Furthermore, a digital flipbook showcased the company's profile, capturing the attention of expo visitors.
