Oppo is gearing up to expand its 5G smartphone lineup in India with the upcoming launch of the Oppo A5 5G. Hot on the heels of the durability-focused Oppo A5 Pro 5G, the brand is now turning its attention to a more accessible version, packing a powerful battery and MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chip.
Big Battery, Punch-Hole Display, and More
At the heart of the Oppo A5 5G lies the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor — a 6nm chipset that also powers the A5 Pro 5G. The smartphone will feature a 6.67-inch display with a punch-hole cutout, though Oppo hasn't confirmed whether it's HD+ or Full HD, with current expectations pointing to a 720p resolution.
The A5 5G will ship in two RAM and storage configurations, with the base variant offering 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. A standout feature is its massive 6,000 mAh battery — notably larger than the 5,800 mAh battery on the Pro variant — promising extended usage on a single charge.
Camera Specs for Everyday Use
In the camera department, the A5 5G will be equipped with a dual rear setup featuring a 50 MP main lens and a 2 MP secondary sensor. On the front, users will find an 8 MP camera housed within the punch-hole display for selfies and video calls. Live images of the device have surfaced online, reported Smartprix, confirming both the screen design and key specifications.
Oppo A5 Pricing and Launch Timeline
The Oppo A5 5G will be available in two models:
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage at Rs 15,499
- 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage (pricing yet to be revealed)
While Oppo hasn’t officially announced the launch date yet, the device is expected to make its India debut very soon.
