More Than 90% Of Indian Offices Considering, Encouraging ChatGPT's Use, Reveals Study

Artificial intelligence is slowly taking over and its userbase is increasing exponentially as time passes. A large population is embracing this advancement in technology with open arms. AI is not just being used in our personal lives but it is also being used in our professional lives equally. Many corporate officers nowadays use AI tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT to enhance the efficiency of their work significantly. 

According to a study conducted by DeskTime, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has gained significant traction in Indian workplaces. The study reveals that more than 92 per cent of offices in India have integrated this AI tool into their daily operations.

The CEO of DeskTime, Artis Rozentals, while talking about the findings said, “The rapid increase in ChatGPT usage signifies a paradigm shift towards a more innovative and efficient working environment. This study not only underscores the innovative spirit of Indian employees but also sets a benchmark for global workplaces on how generative AI can be effectively integrated into daily operations to complement human skills and enhance overall performance.”

The Rise In Acceptance Of AI At Workplaces

Between January 2023 and March 2024, data was gathered using the DeskTime time-tracking tool from 297 companies across India, encompassing a total of 14,818 employees. As of March 2024, 42.6 per cent of Indian office workers actively utilised ChatGPT, marking a doubling compared to the previous year.

Furthermore, the study indicates that 95.5 per cent of Indian companies are considering and encouraging ChatGPT as a tool for enhancing productivity, with Indian employees leading the charge in integrating AI tools into their professional routines.

The most significant increase in ChatGPT adoption among employees occurred from January to April 2023, when usage rose from 13 per cent to 28 per cent. Since then, growth has stabilised but remains consistent. Indian workers are at the forefront of AI adoption, dedicating an average of 241 hours annually to AI tools, as reported by HRKatha.
