OnePlus Nord 5 Vs Poco F7 5G: The Indian mid-range smartphone market just got more exciting with the launch of two powerful contenders, the OnePlus Nord 5 and the Poco F7 5G. Both phones promise near-flagship performance at competitive prices, catering to users who want premium features without spending a fortune.

OnePlus Nord 5 Vs Poco F7 5G: Pricing & Display

The OnePlus Nord 5 starts at Rs 31,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, going up to Rs 37,999 for the 12GB + 512GB version. Poco F7 5G offers a slightly more affordable top-end model, with the 12GB + 512GB variant priced at Rs 33,999, and the 12GB + 256GB model also at Rs 31,999.

Both devices feature large 6.83-inch AMOLED displays. The Nord 5 supports a higher 144Hz refresh rate, while the Poco F7 offers 120Hz but outshines with a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, compared to 1,800 nits on the Nord. Poco also wins on durability with Gorilla Glass 7i, a metal frame, and multiple IP ratings (IP66, IP68, and IP69), compared to Nord’s IP65 rating.

Under the hood, the Nord 5 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 paired with OxygenOS 15. The Poco F7 takes the lead with the newer Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and HyperOS 2.0. Both phones offer LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Poco edges ahead again with its long-term support promise; four years of Android updates and six years of security patches. While OnePlus hasn’t announced an identical update timeline, it typically offers three years of major updates on its Nord series.

Both phones sport dual rear cameras: a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The Nord 5 uses a Sony LYT-700 sensor with optical image stabilisation, while the Poco F7 uses Sony’s IMX882. On the front, the Nord offers a sharper 50MP selfie camera, compared to the 20MP front camera on the Poco.

The Poco F7 also leads in battery capacity, packing a 7,550mAh cell with 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging. It includes a 3D IceLoop cooling system. The Nord 5 offers a 6,800mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging.

Connectivity is strong on both devices, with support for 5G, USB-C, NFC, and GPS. Poco offers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, while Nord delivers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. OnePlus includes additional features like a customizable Plus Key and an IR blaster.

The OnePlus Nord 5 impresses with its sleek design, fast display, and standout selfie camera.

However, the Poco F7 5G makes a stronger overall case with its brighter display, bigger battery, newer chipset, and extended software support, positioning it as a powerful all-rounder in the mid-range flagship space.
