Nothing Releases NothingOS 2.5.5 Update For Phone 2: Know What's New

The latest update introduces a new gesture feature within the Nothing X app, enabling users to initiate voice conversations with ChatGPT for Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A.

Nothing is launching a fresh software update for its Nothing Phone 2, initially released in July 2023 with Android 13-based Nothing OS 2.0. The phone has been upgraded to Android 14 and is now receiving the latest NothingOS 2.5.5 update. This new update brings ChatGPT integration along with bug fixes and other enhancements. This update follows the release of Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a), which also introduced ChatGPT integration.

The company shared the news in a community post, informing Nothing Phone 2 users about the availability of ChatGPT integration with the NothingOS 2.5.5 update. However, users are required to download and install the latest version of ChatGPT from the Play Store on their devices to access this feature.

The Integration Of ChatGPT

The latest update introduces a new gesture feature within the Nothing X app, enabling users to initiate voice conversations with ChatGPT for Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A. According to the company, this functionality will be extended to other Nothing audio products in the near future.

Moreover, the NothingOS 2.5.5 update includes ChatGPT widgets that enable users to launch ChatGPT in various modes directly from the home screen. Additionally, a new button has been integrated into the screenshot and clipboard pop-up menus, allowing users to paste content directly into a new ChatGPT conversation.

What Other Improvements Does It Bring

The phone has received enhancements in its camera capabilities, including the new Ultra XDR mode, which users can activate through the Camera settings. Both Photo and Portrait Modes within the Camera app now feature an XDR switch.

Furthermore, the update brings a RAM booster feature accessible via Settings > System > RAM Booster. The Quick Settings menu on Phone 2 now includes a Ring Mode option for swift sound setting changes. Users can also enjoy new Recorder and Battery widgets, along with a Glyph Interface Debug Mode in the developer options that offers improved Glyph UI control for app developers.

In terms of system improvements, the NothingOS 2.5.5 update enhances overall system stability, NFC functionality, and Wi-Fi connection stability. It also addresses bugs and resolves flickering issues associated with Quick Settings app launches. More details about these fixes are available in the community post.

You can install the update by doing this: Settings > System > System Update > Download > Install on your Nothing Phone 2.
