Motorola Edge 60 Pro Vs Edge 50 Pro: Power-Packed Upgrade Or Minor Refresh? Check Out

The Edge 60 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset with a 3.35GHz clock speed — a notable leap from the Edge 50 Pro’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro Vs Edge 50 Pro: Motorola is keeping the heat on in the premium midrange smartphone race with the launch of the Edge 60 Pro, the successor to the Edge 50 Pro 5G. With both phones sharing similar DNA yet packing different performance traits, it’s a close contest — but the latest device brings some serious upgrades that could tempt upgraders and new buyers alike.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro Vs Edge 50 Pro: Design & Display

Both phones come with a 6.7-inch OLED display with 1B colours, punch-hole cutouts, curved edges, and Pantone validation — but the Edge 60 Pro stretches its screen-to-body ratio to an impressive 96.47 per cent, compared to the Edge 50 Pro's 90.75 per cent. The newer model also introduces Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and peak brightness of 4500 nits, making it better suited for outdoor viewing.

Where the Edge 50 Pro hits 144Hz refresh rate with a 360Hz touch sampling rate, the Edge 60 Pro dials it down slightly to 120Hz and 300Hz, respectively. But real-world performance is unlikely to suffer given its upgraded internals.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro Vs Edge 50 Pro: Performance & Power

One of the biggest jumps is in the performance department. The Edge 60 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset with a 3.35GHz clock speed — a notable leap from the Edge 50 Pro’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which maxes out at 2.63GHz.

It also packs a 6000mAh battery (vs 4500mAh on the Edge 50 Pro), supports 90W fast charging, and includes reverse wired charging. While both phones offer wireless and reverse wireless charging, the Edge 60 Pro has toned down the wireless wattage (15W vs 50W), possibly for thermal efficiency.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro Vs Edge 50 Pro: Cameras

Both smartphones sport triple-camera setups with a 50MP primary sensor and 10MP telephoto lens offering 3X optical zoom. However, the Edge 60 Pro steps it up with a Sony LYTIA 700C sensor, improved ultra-wide macro capabilities, and up to 50X Super Zoom.

Selfie lovers will find a lot to like too — both phones use a 50MP front camera with 4K video recording, but the Edge 60 Pro edges ahead with features like Auto Night Vision, Action Shot, and Dual Capture with Instagram integration.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro Vs Edge 50 Pro: Pricing

Running Android 15 out of the box with Hello UI, the Edge 60 Pro promises 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security patches — matching the Edge 50 Pro’s promise. Security-wise, both get Moto Secure and ThinkShield baked in.

The phones also come loaded with Moto AI. According to Motorola, the new Edge 60 Pro includes "Moto AI 2.0, Magic Eraser, Circle to Search, and Magic Editor" — features designed to simplify tasks and supercharge creativity.

Priced at Rs 29,999, the Edge 60 Pro sits just above the Edge 50 Pro, which is currently retailing at Rs 27,999. For the extra Rs 2,000, buyers get a bigger battery, faster chip, refined design, and enhanced AI features.
