After a massive Microsoft global outage on Friday, the tech giant’s CEO and chairman Satya Nadella released a statement saying that the company is working closely with CrowdStrike to provide customers with technical guidance and support to safely bring their systems back online.

Nadella’s first reaction comes hours after the global outage crippled various industries, including airlines, banking, travel, and finance, among others. The root cause behind the outage was identified as a faulty update on Windows systems from CrowdStrike's Falcon Senor.

In his first reaction since the outage occured, Nadella tweeted: "Yesterday, CrowdStrike released an update that began impacting IT systems globally. We are aware of this issue and are working closely with CrowdStrike and across the industry to provide customers technical guidance and support to safely bring their systems back online."

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, commented on Nadella's post: "This gave a seizure to the automotive supply chain."

The airports and airline operations across the country and abroad were significantly hit due to the outage. Major US airlines including United, Delta, and American Airlines were grounded due to communication issues.

In India, SpiceJet in T1, Air India Express in T2, Akasa, and IndiGo are the ones that were impacted by the outage, PTI reported. The latter alone cancelled around 200 flights.

Hundreds of flights were delayed by a considerable time as the networks of the airlines were affected. The move to manual check-ins, bookings, and boarding processes added to the delay.

The outage reportedly started at 10:40 am, news agency PTI reported citing sources.
