Meta Threads Rolls Out New Features To Enhance Media Sharing Experience For Users — Check Details

Meta Threads users now have the ability to tag others in the photos they share, making interactions more dynamic and personalized.

Meta’s Threads has introduced a series of updates designed to enhance its media-sharing experience for users. With the latest improvements, the social media platform is adding a dedicated “Media” tab, making it easier for users to browse and manage shared photos and videos. Additionally, the update introduces a long-awaited feature that allows users to tag others in photos, further enriching interactions and engagement on the app. These enhancements aim to refine the user experience, making content discovery and social connections more seamless within the Threads ecosystem.

Instagram Head, Adam Mosseri, said, “A few Threads updates rolling out globally: the markup feature lets you easily add your take on someone else’s post (highlighting text is a great way to show what resonates with you), and the ability to tag people in the photos you share. We’re also introducing a “media” tab where others can quickly see all photos and videos you share, a long overdue request from the community.”

Meta Threads New Features

Threads has introduced a new "markup" feature, allowing users to emphasise and comment directly on someone else’s post, adding more context and engagement to discussions. Additionally, users now have the ability to tag others in the photos they share, making interactions more dynamic and personalised.

Another notable addition is the "Media" tab, which provides a centralized space where users can easily access and view all the photos and videos they’ve posted. This makes it more convenient for followers to explore shared media without scrolling through entire profiles.

The update arrives as competing platforms like X and Bluesky continue rolling out similar media-focused features, particularly emphasizing video content. By enhancing its media-sharing tools, Threads aims to stay competitive in an increasingly video-driven social media landscape, where platforms like TikTok continue to dominate despite regulatory challenges in the U.S.
