Manish Chopra, Meta India Head Of Partnerships, Resigns. Here's What He Said

Before joining Meta, Chopra co-founded and served as CEO of Little, an app-only deals marketplace.

Manish Chopra, the head of partnership initiatives in India for Meta, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, has announced his resignation after a tenure of four and a half years. Chopra's departure is the latest in a series of significant exits from Meta India. Previously, former India head Ajit Mohan and public policy head Rajiv Aggarwal left the company in November 2022. Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Chopra stated that he would be involved in the transition process over the coming weeks.

Chopra joined Meta India (formerly known as Facebook India) in 2019 as the Director and Head of Partnerships. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing the growth and engagement strategies for Meta's suite of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Before joining Meta, Chopra co-founded and served as CEO of Little, an app-only deals marketplace. Little was later acquired by Paytm in 2017. Chopra also co-founded the online apparel brand Zovi. With an extensive background, he gained valuable experience during his nearly nine-year tenure at Microsoft, holding various roles, and spent almost two years at Oracle.

It is worth mentioning that Chopra's departure aligns with Meta's global cost-cutting measures, which involve the elimination of 21,000 jobs. The first round of layoffs, affecting 11,000 employees, took place in November 2022, while the second round, affecting 10,000 employees, was announced in March 2023 and is scheduled to conclude in May 2023.
