iOS 18 rollout: Apple Intelligence tools will roll out in a beta version as part of iOS 18.1, with more updates planned in the coming months.

iOS 18 Rollout: Apple is launching its latest iOS 18 update for eligible iPhone models starting today, September 16. While the upcoming iPhone 16 series will come pre-installed with the new software when it hits shelves on September 20, users with older iPhones can start downloading the update now.

iOS 18, which was first introduced at the WWDC event in June, brings a host of new features, including significant software updates and redesigns. One of the most anticipated updates is the introduction of Apple Intelligence, although the stable version of this AI-powered feature won't be available until next month.

The AI tools will roll out in a beta version as part of iOS 18.1, with more updates planned in the coming months. However, these advanced features will be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. The iPhone 16 series, specifically built with Apple Intelligence in mind, will fully support these AI tools.

Initially, Apple’s AI will be available to devices with Siri set to US English. Over time, Apple plans to expand support for English-speaking regions like the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa by year-end. By 2024, users can expect the AI functionality to extend to languages like French, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese.

The Action Button can be used for even quicker access, and users can rearrange control tiles as they see fit.

A highly anticipated privacy feature in iOS 18 is the ability to lock individual apps and hide them in secure folders, ensuring sensitive data remains private.iOS 18 also enhances the Messages app with new features such as RCS support for better cross-platform messaging, scheduled message sending, and new text formatting options. Additionally, iPhone 14 and newer models now support satellite messaging for communication in remote areas.
