This announcement comes at a time when Instagram Threads is struggling to retain its users amid waning popularity.
Instagram Threads has finally got the much-awaited edit button along with another useful feature, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced late on Thursday. Multiple leaks and rumours suggested that Meta was working to add edit button to Threads and the feature has finally become available. With the addition of the edit button, Instagram Threads users will be able to edit posts as many times as they want. But they will be able to do it only within five minutes of posting.
"Rolling out Edit and Voice Threads today. Enjoy!," Zuckerberg announced in a Threads post.

Notably, Threads rival X lets premium users edit posts and also see previous revisions, or history of the tweet. This ability will be missing in Threads. This means after five minutes of posting, users will not be able to edit the Threads post. The feature will be available for both the mobile application and the web client.
Earlier in August, the X, formerly Twitter rival announced rolling out a web version of Threads. It was apprently the most requested feature and initially, users on the web would be able to post, view feeds and interact with posts but the service won't be at par with the Threads app for iOS and Android, said a previous report by TechCrunch.
