Instagram Introduces 4 New Features: 'Reveal', 'Frames', 'Cutout' And 'Add Yours Music Stickers'. Here’s How You Can Use Them
Reveal sticker is useful for sparking conversations, it holds particular value for Instagram creators as it can boost engagement levels.
Instagram recently introduced a new 'Reveal' sticker, enabling users to share hidden Stories. Meta stated that the content can only be viewed by sending a direct message (DM) to the account that posted it. Additionally, Instagram announced several other stickers in a blog post, allowing users to share their favourite songs of the day and create custom stickers from photos or videos.
Reveal Sticker
To utilise this feature, select the Stickers icon while creating a new Story and opt for the 'Reveal' sticker. You'll then be prompted to enter a hint that will be displayed to your followers, hinting at what's hidden behind your blurred story. After posting, your followers can view the content by sending you a DM, without requiring your approval for each message.
While the Reveal sticker is useful for sparking conversations, it holds particular value for Instagram creators as it can boost engagement levels.
Add Yours Music
The social media platform is introducing a new “Add Yours Music” sticker, allowing users to share music that reflects their current mood. Just like some other existing Stickers, users can respond to the Add Yours Music sticker by sharing their favourite song.
To utilize this feature, click on the Stickers icon and select the “Add Yours Music” sticker. Next, tap on the “Add Music” button and pick your preferred song from the Instagram music library.
Frames Feature
Instagram has introduced a new Frames feature, a Sticker that transforms an image into a virtual Polaroid. To reveal it, users can either shake their phones or press the "Shake to reveal" button. Unlike regular Stories that showcase current activities, the Frames sticker offers a nostalgic touch reminiscent of a traditional post. When an image is added to the Frames sticker, it automatically displays the date and time of the photo. Users also have the option to include a caption for the picture.
To use this feature, simply tap on the stickers icon while creating a new Story and select the "Frames" sticker. This will open your photo gallery, allowing you to choose the image you wish to frame. After selecting the image, you can also add a caption to personalise your Story further.
Cutout
The social media platform under Meta's ownership has also unveiled a Cutouts sticker, enabling users to transform a portion of a photo or video into a customised sticker for inclusion in a Story or Reel. Similar to the cutout tools found in Apple and Samsung devices, users can isolate an object from a photo or video using touch gestures.
When employing the Cutout sticker, you'll be directed to your photo and video library, where you'll choose a suitable photo or video featuring a distinct subject. This action will automatically generate a new sticker. However, users can also manually select the object they wish to use as a sticker. To utilise it, simply tap the "Use sticker" button and incorporate it into your Story or Reel.
