Samsung is set to launch two smartphones in the Galaxy Z series, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 on Wednesday (July 26) after a series of leaks and rumours. This is the second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year that is slated to start at 4:30 pm IST. A physical launch event would take place in Seoul in South Korea for the first time as the South Korean tech giant has always hosted its launch events in the US or European countries. Samsung is expected to officially unveil two foldable devices, the Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets, the Galaxy Watch 6 series and the Galaxy Buds 3 truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung's new iteration of flagship foldables is said to bring several improvements over their predecessors, including such as bigger cover displays, better cameras and slimmer profiles.

The July edition of the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event will start at 4:30 pm IST and enthusiasts can watch the live stream of the event for free. A top Samsung executive recently revealed key details of the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. According to TM Roh, President and Head of MX Business, Samsung Electronics, the company has "raised the standards for foldable smartphone ergonomics". The portability of Samsung's foldable phones has garnered great interest in the past week after the release of Google's maiden foldable phone, the Google Pixel Fold. Even as there are similarities between the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Pixel Fold, the latter is 0.2 inches thinner.

"Take, for instance, the act of folding and unfolding a smartphone. It seems simple. However, that simplicity users feel is only achieved through a rigorous focus on what is most essential and intuitive. The minimal, sleek appearance housing specialized hinge functionality emphasizes our commitment and the inherent beauty of essential design," Roh had noted.

The South Korean tech giant is also likely to officially unveil the Galaxy Tab S9 series on July 26 in Seoul, its home turf. Samsung is also likely to unveil new accessories such as the Galaxy Watch 6 series and the Galaxy Buds 3 TWS earphones, but some reports suggest that the company may not refresh its TWS lineup this year. All the previous iterations of Galaxy Unpacked events were held in European countries and the US.

A recent leak suggested that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic may be unveiled in two sizes: 43mm and 47mm with the former variant with Bluetooth and LTE editions may be priced around EUR 419.99 which is roughly Rs 37,700 and EUR 469.99 which is around Rs 42,100. The 47mm variants of the Watch 6 Classic are likely to be priced around EUR 449.99 which is roughly Rs 40,300 and EUR 499.99 which roughly translates into Rs 44,800, respectively.
