FlixBus, the Germany-based travel aggregator, has announced its entry into the South Indian market, with services set to begin on September 10. The initial phase will connect Bengaluru with major cities such as Chennai and Hyderabad, followed by an expansion to other destinations including Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Belagavi.

FlixBus, known for its affordable and comfortable intercity bus services, has partnered with six local bus operators to facilitate this expansion. The company aims to further extend its reach by adding 33 more cities across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala, ultimately offering over 200 connections throughout South India. Once fully operational, FlixBus India will connect 101 cities and 215 stops across the country.

As part of its launch in Bengaluru, FlixBus is offering a promotional fare of Rs 99 on select routes. This limited-time offer is available for bookings made between September 3 and September 15, with travel dates from September 10 to October 6, according to a company statement.

How To Book Tickets On FlixBus

FlixBus offers several convenient ways to book tickets, including online, through the mobile app, at Flix Lounge, or via authorised third-party resellers. 

To book online, passengers can select their boarding and dropping points, travel dates, and the number of passengers before choosing from the available trips. Reserved seats are held for ten minutes, allowing ample time to complete the booking process. Payments can be made using various methods, and a confirmation message containing all travel details will be sent via SMS.

For mobile bookings, users can download the FlixBus app from Google Play or the App Store, select their preferred trip, and complete the purchase within the app. A booking confirmation with trip details will be sent via email.

Customers can also visit Flix Lounge for in-person assistance with booking tickets or resolving travel queries.

With its South Indian expansion, FlixBus continues to grow its footprint in India, aiming to provide a seamless, cost-effective travel experience to millions of passengers.
