Elon Musk's Grok AI Chatbot Launched In India: Here Are The Annual And Monthly Subscription Charges

Musk-owned X recently initiated the rollout of Grok, the unconventional AI chatbot, for Premium+ subscribers.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk's xAI has said that its generative AI chatbot, Grok AI, is expanding its availability to India and 46 other nations, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, among others. It is worth mentioning that X, previously known as Twitter, recently shared an update stating that Grok AI chatbot access is progressively reaching Premium+ subscribers in the US.

Musk-owned X recently initiated the rollout of Grok, the unconventional AI chatbot, for Premium+ subscribers on their platform and Musk had also warned that the beta version might encounter several issues but assures continuous enhancements.

Grok Prices For X Premium+ Users In India

Like elsewhere globally, Grok access in India is exclusively open to X Premium+ subscribers, requiring users to pay Rs 1,300 per month or Rs 13,600 for an annual subscription.

“Grok is now gracing the world in even more countries, spreading knowledge and laughter far and wide. The future is looking brighter already!," Linda Yaccarino, the chief executive of X, said.

“Access to @grok is now rolling out to Premium+ subscribers in the US over the next week. You can find Grok in the side menu on web, iOS, and Android,” X posted.

Earlier in an announcement made in November, xAI highlighted that Grok is crafted to "respond with a touch of humour" and possesses a "rebellious nature". The company emphasised that, unlike other chatbots, Grok benefits from real-time information through data from micro-blogging platform X. Additionally, xAI mentioned Grok's ability to address questions typically declined by mainstream AI chatbots.

Built upon xAI's exclusive large language model (LLM) named Grok-0, Grok is equipped with 33 billion parameters. According to xAI, Grok-0 surpasses the performance of OpenAI's ChatGPT based on the GPT 3.5 language model (free version).

It should be noted that shortly after its launch to users in the US, Grok became embroiled in a series of controversies. In a notable instance, the chatbot was tasked with roasting tech billionaire Musk, and in line with its proclaimed "rebellious streak", Grok lived up to expectations. Musk's own chatbot referred to him as a "delicate flower" and scrutinised various aspects of Musk's conduct, including his fixation on "x" and the swift transformations observed in the former Twitter since the billionaire's acquisition last year.
