Eager To Get Amitabh Bachchan's Voice On Alexa? Here's How You Can Activate Feature On Amazon App

India's first celebrity voice feature on Amazon's digital assistant Alexa has none other than megastar Amitabh Bachchan's voice to give updates to users.

New Delhi: Amazon on Thursday announced that users can now ask for music, set alarms, and even get weather updates in the voice of megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

This comes after Amazon in September last year announced its partnership with the veteran actor in a bid to create a unique user experience for users on Alexa-enabled devices.

India's first celebrity voice feature on Amazon's digital assistant Alexa is available on Echo devices, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Fire TV Edition apart from the Alexa app.

Amazon in its statement informed that Indian customers can choose to add Amitabh Bachchan's voice to their Alexa experience on Echo devices.

Here's how users can get Amitabh Bachchan's voice on Alexa-enabled devices:

• Users can begin by pressing the mic icon on the Amazon shopping app (Android only).
• Say "Alexa, introduce me to Amitabh Bachchan" to get the introduction to the feature.
• Then click on the mic icon and say "search for Amitabh Bachchan" and "search for Amit ji" as instructed.
• Users then need to pay an introductory price of Rs 149 for one year to be able to access the feature.
• Finally, to interact with Bachchan's voice, use the wake word 'Amit ji'.

The celebrity voice feature includes content handpicked by the veteran superstar. These include stories from his life, a selection of poems by his father, tongue twisters, motivational quotes, and others, the statement informed.

Bachchan fans can also add a special touch to their birthday celebrations by receiving greetings in his voice, all they need to do is "Amit ji, it's my birthday".

"Working with Amazon to introduce my voice on Alexa was a new experience in bringing together the magic of voice technology and artistic creativity. I am excited that my well-wishers can now interact with me via this new medium, and looking forward to hear how they feel about this," Amitabh Bachchan said about the whole experience of working with Amazon.

Puneesh Kumar, country leader for Alexa at Amazon India, said, "Building the Amitabh Bachchan celebrity voice experience with one of India's most iconic voices has been a labour of love".

"Creating the world's first bi-lingual celebrity voice required us to invent and re-invent across almost every element of speech science – wake word, speech recognition, neural text-to-speech and more," he said.
