Battlegrounds Mobile India Permanently Bans Over 70,000 Accounts To Curb Cheating

Continuing its fight against crackdown against illegal activities that affect the gaming environment, BGMI parent Krafton has again banned more than 70,000 accounts permanently.

New Delhi: Continuing its fight against crackdown against illegal activities that affect the gaming environment, Battlegrounds Mobile India's (BGMI) parent Krafton has again banned more than 70,000 accounts permanently. The company has been on a banning spree and had last month announced it would resort to device ban to curb cheating in the battle royale game.

"Dear BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA fans, 71,116 accounts were permanently banned from Dec 27 ~ Jan 2. We would also like to present you the entire list of cheaters who have tried to ruin our Battlegrounds," the company wrote in a blog post.

Battlegrounds Mobile India parent Krafton added that it will strive to implement strong sanctions with the ultimate goal of eradicating the use of illegal programs in order to provide gamers a pleasant gaming environment.

South Korea-based Krafton Inc has been taking strict measures to check illegal activities and it had banned almost 1 lakh accounts for cheating between December 13 and December 19 only.

Earlier last month, Krafton had announced that it will introduce even stricter measures and that the game developers will now ban the device itself, and not just the associated account that is found to be involved in cheating or hacking the popular battle royale game.

The device ban became applicable starting December 24. BGMI developer Krafton mentioned that if the use of illegal programs is detected with a mobile device by the newly applied security logic, the device will be permanently banned from using the BGMI battle royale game.

With this, BGMI parent Krafton is intending to crack down on players using illegal software to play the battle royale game using the same device. This move would make sure that players who get caught cheating would be banned and won't be able to cheat again unless they get a new device.
