BGMI Parent Krafton Announces Permanent Device Ban To Check Cheating. Details

BGMI parent Krafton has announced that the game developers will now ban the device itself, and not just the associated account that is found to be involved in cheating in the game.

New Delhi: In a bid to crack down further on cheating and hacking, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) parent company Krafton has announced that it will introduce even stricter measures and that the game developers will now ban the device itself, and not just the associated account that is found to be involved in cheating or hacking the popular battle royale game.

"Dear BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA fans, To provide fair gameplay and eliminate the use of illegal programs, we would like to announce an additional punishment for cheaters. Up until now sanctions were given only to the accounts, but now the mobile devices will be banned as well, making fair gameplay far more effective," the company wrote in a post.

The device ban is applicable starting today (December 24). BGMI developer Krafton mentioned that if the use of illegal programs is detected with a mobile device by the newly applied security logic, the device will be permanently banned from using BGMI battle royale game.

With this, BGMI parent Krafton is intending to crack down on players using illegal software to play the battle royale game using the same device. This move would make sure that players who get caught cheating would be banned and won't be able to cheat again unless they get a new device.

Earlier last week, Krafton, had said that it has banned over 1,42,000 players in less than a week for cheating. The company said that these bans were imposed as a result to limit illegal programmes in the game that result in hacking. According to the company, these accounts were banned between December 6 to December 12. The company published the full list of banned accounts with their names on its website.
