Apple Rolls Out iOS 18.4 With Apple Intelligence In India: Check If Your iPhone Can Support It

With Apple Intelligence, iPhone users can finally gain access to a suite of AI-enhanced tools designed to improve productivity and personalisation.

Apple has finally introduced its much-anticipated Apple Intelligence features to Indian users with the rollout of the iOS 18.4 update. This update, which began rolling out late Monday, expands Apple’s AI-driven capabilities to more regions, bringing advanced tools to select iPhone models.

Which iPhones Get Apple Intelligence?

While the arrival of Apple Intelligence is exciting news for iPhone users in India, not every device is compatible. The AI-powered features will only be available on the latest iPhone 16 lineup — covering iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max — as well as last year’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple Intelligence initially launched in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe. Now, with iOS 18.4, it extends to a broader audience, supporting multiple languages, including localised English for India and Singapore, as well as French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

How to Enable Apple Intelligence?

If you own a supported iPhone, activating Apple Intelligence is straightforward. Simply navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest iOS 18.4 update.

However, Apple is rolling out the update in phases, meaning some users may not see it immediately. If the update isn’t available yet, it should appear within the next few hours or days.

What’s New With Apple Intelligence?

With Apple Intelligence, iPhone users can finally gain access to a suite of AI-enhanced tools designed to improve productivity and personalisation. Writing Tools allow users to rewrite, proofread, and summarise text across Mail, Messages, Notes, and third-party apps. Smart Reply suggests quick responses based on context, making communication faster. Clean Up removes unwanted objects from images, while Genmoji lets users create personalised emojis.

The Photos app now includes natural language search, helping users locate images and video clips effortlessly. Additionally, the Memories feature enables users to generate video montages based on descriptions. Siri also receives a significant upgrade, with a refreshed interface, improved contextual understanding, and the ability to handle both voice and text input interchangeably.

Apple has also expanded its Visual Intelligence feature, which allows users to point their iPhone camera at objects to learn more about them, whether identifying a flower or getting care instructions. Users can activate this by pressing the Capture button on iPhone 16 models or long-pressing the Action button on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Beyond AI features, Apple has introduced system-wide language support for 10 Indian languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, and Marathi. This ensures that system settings, calendars, and lock screen information can be displayed in users’ preferred languages.

Moreover, Apple has integrated ChatGPT into Siri and Writing Tools, allowing users to generate content and analyze images without needing a ChatGPT account. Privacy remains a priority, with OpenAI not storing user requests unless linked to an account.

With Apple Intelligence now expanding to more users worldwide, iPhone owners in India can finally experience Apple’s AI-driven innovations firsthand. If your device is compatible, updating to iOS 18.4 unlocks an array of powerful features aimed at making your iPhone smarter than ever before.
