Uttar Pradesh: Travel To Become Expensive As Road Transport Dept Hikes Bus Fare — All About It
With the fresh increase, passengers traveling from Lucknow to Ayodhya by non-AC bus will have to pay Rs 187 instead of Rs 184. Know more.
New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has now hiked the bus fare for commuters as travel for people becomes more expensive due to fuel price hike and toll charges.
Passengers of UP roadways buses will have to bear the brunt of the hike in toll rates. The fare increase ranges from one rupee to seven rupees.
Increased Price For Bus Travel:
- The journey from Kanpur to Delhi will now cost you Rs 20 rupees more.
- Kanpur to Lucknow fare increased by one rupee.
- The journey from Prayagraj to Lucknow is now costlier by Rs 7.
As per a report by Navbharat Times, the corporation has increased the fare from Rs 1-1.5 for passengers traveling up to 100 km in ordinary buses and by seven rupees in AC buses.
As per its report, Roadways Regional Manager Pallav Bose said that the corporation decided to increase after reviewing the increased rates in toll charges.
The increased fare has been implemented with immediate effect. While the fare is being charged through manual ticketing currently, it will also be implemented for machine tickets soon after the changes are uploaded to the ETM machines.
With the fresh increase, passengers traveling from Lucknow to Ayodhya by non-AC bus will have to pay Rs 187 instead of Rs 184.
Similarly, those going from Lucknow to Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Kanpur, and Sitapur will have to pay Rs 2 to 3 more. Whereas those traveling in AC buses will have to pay an additional increase of Rs 3 to 7.
