A fire erupted at a horticulture dumping yard near Noida city centre in Uttar Pradesh, prompting swift action from firefighting teams. The incident was reported at around 6:00 pm, with fire tender vehicles rushing to the scene to combat the blaze. Pradeep Kumar, Chief Fire Officer (CFO), stated that initial investigations suggest the fire may have been deliberately ignited. He further noted that the presence of dry leaves, coupled with windy conditions, is making it challenging to douse the flames. Despite the obstacles, efforts are underway to extinguish the fire, with 15 fire tenders currently deployed at the site.

Major Fire Engulfs Oil Godown in Delhi, No Casualties Reported

In a separate incident, a major fire broke out in an oil godown located in outer Delhi's Budhpur Alipur area on Monday morning. There have been no reported casualties as individuals present inside the building managed to evacuate in time. The fire is suspected to have originated from a short circuit.

According to officials, the Delhi Fire Services received a call about the fire around 6:15 am, following which 34 fire tenders were dispatched to the scene. However, by the time the firefighting operation commenced, the blaze had already spread across the oil godown and extended to a neighbouring building, housing a godown belonging to the Whirlpool company, news agency PTI reported.

Thick black smoke engulfed the area due to the burning oil, with several videos of the fire circulating on social media platforms. Despite the scale of the fire, no casualties have been reported, and efforts to contain the blaze are ongoing.

Police officials suspect that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, although investigations into the exact cause are still underway.
