New Delhi: A man was arrested for allegedly killing a 21-year-old college student in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun on Monday, said Police. The Twitter account of Rashtriya Janata Dal too shared the upsetting video and said, "In Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun, two bike-borne youths shot dead a girl student in broad daylight. Will the wolves of Godi media and the BJP celebrate this death too?"
Police claimed that Roshni, a BA student in her second year, was shot and killed earlier in the day at the Kotra crossing by two men riding motorcycles.
Roshni had attended the college for an exam, according to Iraj Raja, the superintendent of police. At around 11.30 am while she was coming back, the motorcycle-borne men shot her in the head and escaped.
Raj Ahirwar was the subject of a complaint filed by the woman's parents, which led to the establishment of a case and his arrest by the police. He stated that Ahirwar is being questioned.
According to the NDTV report, the victim was returning home from the Ram Lakhan Patel Mahavidyalaya in Ait following the exam at approximately 11 a.m. when two men riding a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle approached her with a country-made pistol in their hands.
After the student's parents filed a complaint against Raj Ahirwar, the police opened a case. The report stated that the police have taken him into custody and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
A day after the murders of Atiq Ahmed and his brother, social media users questioned the state's law and order when they saw a video of the college student lying face down on the ground.
Atiq Ahmad, sought in over 100 criminal cases, including the murder of lawyer Umesh Pal, was killed together with his brother Ashraf in Prayagraj while being transported for a medical test. The three gunmen pretended to be journalists and opened fire on the Ahmad brothers in full front of TV crews. Following the killing, the gunmen quickly surrendered and were apprehended.
