'People Will Make Those Sit At Home Who Play Politics Of Hate And Division': Salman Khurshid

UP Elections: Salman Khurshid said that he did not find Prime Minister Narendra Modi's smart Banaras anywhere in Varanasi. He said that the Congress has always played inclusive politics.

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid said on Sunday that those who play politics of hate and division, people will make them sit at home in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Khurshid also said that in Varanasi, he did not find Prime Minister Narendra Modi's smart Banaras, as the problem here remains the same and the sentiment with which the people here elected him, are hurt.

Khurshid said the people are fed up with the forces of division and hate politics. He said that from the dictatorial style of power, people now want liberation from corruption, inflation, unemployment and gundaraj. The Chairman of the Congress Manifesto Committee, had come to Varanasi for the party's manifesto dialogue programme for the upcoming assembly elections.

The Congress leader said that Uttar Pradesh represents a large population and large tract of land in the country and the state lacks industry and factories. He said that in our manifesto, we will do our best to make Uttar Pradesh an advanced and developed state and in this regard, the Committee is going to meet the people of various districts of the state.

Basic Problems Of Banaras Remains Same Even Today- Khurshid

Khurshid said, "The Congress has always played inclusive politics and we have been concerned about the representation of every category of the society and every section. Our election manifesto is our ideal statement. Our manifesto is our promissory note. Whenever we were given an opportunity by the people, we have worked to implement the global schemes. We take public opinion on our election manifesto and prepare an action plan to complete it with top level experts on it.''

He further said, "I have not yet been able to find Modiji's smart Banaras anwhere. I had come to look for Modiji's smart Banaras, but unfortunately I didn't find that smart Banaras anywhere.'' The Congress leader said, "The basic problems of Banaras is the same even today. I am sad that the sentiment with which the people of Banaras voted for Modiji and made him the Prime Minister, he has hurt the same sentiment of the people.''
