'Orchestrated Murder': Mukhtar Ansari's Son Demands Postmortem By AIIMS Doctors

Mukhtar Ansari's son Umar Ansari has demanded the postmortem of his father to be conducted by a panel of doctors from AIIMS Delhi.

Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari's son Umar Ansari has demanded a postmortem investigation of his late father by a team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi instead of the panel of doctors in Banda. Mukhtar died on Thursday night at Banda Medical College after suffering a heart attack.

In a letter addressed to Banda District Magistrate dated March 29, Umar stated that his father, through an advocate, had informed the MP-MLA court in Banda and Barabanki on March 21 that he has been subjected to "slow poison" and that his health has deteriorated.

Claiming that Mukhtar's death was not a natural one but a "orchestrated murder" Umar said that after his father was admitted to Banda Medical College on March 26 after his health deteriorated, he was informed regarding the same but when he went to meet his father, he was stopped by the administration.

"We sense a conspiracy in this," he added.

He also alleged that Mukhtar's treatment was not done independently and he was sent back to jail a few hours under pressure after being admitted.

On March 28, at around 3:30 pm, Mukhtar called Umar through jail PCO and said that he was being "poisoned" under prior planning. As per the letter Mukhtar told his son: "Umar beta ab mai nahi bachunga" (I will not survive, Umar).

Later in the day when asked if the family has a suspicion that Mukhtar was subjected to slow poision, Umar said, "We are confident that this is not a natural death but an orchestrated murder."
