After Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, PM Modi Launches Rs 1,450-Crore Maharishi Valmiki International Airport
The core of the newly constructed airport has a modern touch while the façade of the terminal has a traditional look as done in the new building of the Ayodhya station.
PM Modi Ayodhya Vsit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya Dham, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday. Phase 1 of the airport has been developed at a cost of more than Rs 1450 crore. The airport’s terminal building will have an area of 6500 sq m, equipped to serve about 10 lakh passengers annually.

The core of the newly constructed airport has a modern touch while the façade of the terminal has a traditional look as done in the new building of the Ayodhya station. The main entrance has also been built in a similar way, with a concrete core and cladding of sandstone bearing stylised carvings.
The core of the airport building is about 15 km from the main Ayodhya city.

The façade of the terminal bears a temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya and has been decorated with themes from the local art, paintings and murals depicting the life of Lord Ram.
The state-of-the-art airport, which was developed at a cost of over Rs 1450 crore, has an extended runway which is suitable for A-321/B-737 type aircraft operations.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi flagged off two new Amrit Bharat trains and six new Vande Bharat trains. This comes after PM Modi inaugurated the Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, a significant milestone in the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure and connectivity.
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, CM Yogi Adityanath, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were also present during the inauguration.
