Rajasthan: Jodhpur Police Visits Sacked Minister Rajendra Gudha's Residence In Rape Case Probe
A police team visited the government bungalow allotted to Rajendra Gudha to investigate a Pocso case. The accused were earlier arrested in Jodhpur and the MLA is not directly related to the case.
A Jodhpur Police team on Thursday reached the house of sacked Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha over an investigation into the alleged rape of a minor. The police had come to investigate the case registered under the Protect of Children from Sexual Offences at the Pipar police station of Jodhpur (rural) area in the Government Housing Complex area of Jaipur on July 2.
The accused in the Pocso Act case were earlier arrested in Jodhpur. The police team visited the government bungalow that had been allotted to Gudha. However, he was not there.
Sources said the girl was confined to a guard room built on the premises of the government bungalow. However, the matter is not directly related to Gudha.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot last month sacked Rajendra Singh Gudha from the state cabinet after the latter criticised the Congress government over recent incidents of crimes against women in the state. He questioned his own government's work in tackling the crimes against women, even as his colleagues slammed the Manipur violence.
Rajendra Gudha later said that he planned to bring before the assembly a 'red diary' that contained information about suspected improper financial activities by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He said that he had "secured" the diary from the home of Congress politician Dharmendra Rathore during an income tax raid on the chief minister's orders.
The Udaipurwati MLA stated that he intended to make a remark about the diaries in the House but was denied permission by the Speaker. He said that Congress ministers and MLAs seized him, kicked him, and stole the diary from him. He said that they pulled him out of the House. However, he stated that parts of the journal were still with him and that he would divulge the "secrets" it contained.
Speaking about the "secrets" in the diary, he stated: “The diary is written by Dharmendra Rathore. It has the name of Ashok Gehlot and his son. It has details of financial transactions, and the money given to MLAs. The money was Rs 2-5 crore, not in lakhs."
Gudha further stated that there is no distinction between "rapists" and Congress MLAs. He said that similar to mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, Congress MLAs conduct their illegal operations from within the House.
