Rajasthan News: A POCSO court in Kota on Wednesday sentenced a 19-year-old youth to 20 years in jail for sexually assaulting a minor girl, as reported by news agency PTI. Public prosecutor Ramhaitar Gurjar told that Chandan alias Babulal was convicted and a fine of Rs 1 lakh was imposed on him.

Gurjar said that on March 26, 2023, Babulal took the four-year-old girl to his room on some pretext and sexually abused her. Babulal was arrested in May last year, and since then he has been in jail under judicial custody, he said. According to PTI, the minor narrated her ordeal to her parents the same day, following which they moved to the police and lodged a case.

In another incident, a girl was allegedly raped, beaten up, and thrown near Dabri Metro Station in southwest Delhi's Sagarpur area by her 'friend', PTI reported on Wednesday, citing police. The officials said that the accused, who had met the minor through social media, has been apprehended and booked.

According to the police, the victim had gone to a coaching class and after that to meet a friend of hers. "We got to know that she decided to meet her social media friend. Thereafter she was raped. Further investigation is underway," a senior police officer said, as quoted by PTI.

In another incident that took place in the national capital, a minor girl was allegedly raped by her social media 'friend' and was found in an unconscious state near Dabri Metro Station in Sagarpur area, police said on Wednesday, as reported by news agency PTI.

According to the girl's statement, she had fainted near the metro station on Tuesday. Police had earlier said that she was beaten up and thrown there, PTI reported. The accused, who is a minor, has been detained and booked by the police.

"We got to know that she decided to meet her social media friend. Thereafter she was raped. The girl took a rickshaw to return to her home when she fainted near the metro station and received minor injuries," a senior police officer said, as quoted by PTI.
