Chhattisgarh Admin Trains Students From Naxal-Affected Areas For Prestigious Institutions

Special coaching classes are being run in Chhattisgar's Narayanpur to train students for prestigious institutions like Navodaya Vidyalaya and Sainik School.

A special initiative has been started in Chhattisgarh to train students from areas that are worst affected by Naxals in the Narayanpur area for prestigious institutions. These children are being given the opportunity to receive coaching for more prestigious institutions by the administration. According to an ANI report, children from Naxal-affected areas of Orchha study in Porta Cabin and Orchha's primary school to prepare for institutes like Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Sainik School. Collector Ajit Vasant told the news agency that by entering such institutes, they can set examples for their villages.

"The children of Orchha's interior areas, which are heavily Naxal-affected, study in Porta Cabin and Orchha's primary school. All those students who are in class 5 are being prepared for excellent institutions like Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Sainik School by appointing a separate coach for them at one place... By entering these institutes, they (students) can become an example for the children of our village (sic)", Vasant was quoted as saying by ANI.

The students are provided with books, notebooks and stationery for their preparation for new schools.

One of the coaching teachers, Harshvardhan told ANI that the government organised the classes to give the students better opportunities and that many of the students are victims of Naxal-hit areas. He said in his class there are 60 students, 30 girls and 30 boys. The students are provided with all the stationery and books they would require for their education. He said that initially the students were very hesitant to speak, but slowly with the effort from both him and the students they have become more confident.

"Government has organised coaching classes for Navodaya Vidyalaya...Many students here are Naxal victims. There are 60 students in total out of which 30 are girls and 30 are boys...From administration, students are provided books, notebooks and stationery for the preparation of Navodaya Vidyalaya..," he added.
