'BJP Failed As Opposition': Karnataka Leader Arvind Limbavali Embarrasses Own Party

BJP leader Arvind Limbavali criticised the opposition for failing to effectively present issues which has led people to question whether the opposition party is involved with the ruling party.

In an embarrassment for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka, former state Cabinet minister and BJP leader Arvind Limbavali has publicly criticised the party's effectiveness as an opposition in the Assembly. Limbavali expressed his disappointment stating that the BJP has "totally failed" in fulfilling its role.

Limbavali alleged the lack of harmony and understanding between the state party president BY Vijayendra, who is also an MLA, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, R. Ashoka. "It is regrettable that there has been no harmony and understanding between our party's state president and the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly," he said.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Limbavali, known for his close ties with the RSS, mentioned several issues, including the MUDA scam, Valmiki Development Corporation scam, and the misuse of grants reserved for SC-ST under the guarantee scheme. "Our party has not been able to take any issue to a logical conclusion," he lamented.

He further criticised the opposition leaders for failing to effectively present these issues, which has led people to question whether the opposition party is involved with the ruling party. "The BJP, which was supposed to be the voice of the people by pointing out the failures of the state government, has totally failed in doing it as an opposition party," the former minister remarked.

Despite having the opportunity to highlight the government's row of scandals, mismanagement, and failures in the House, Limbavali accused BJP leaders of failing to seize this opportunity. He emphasised the rampant dengue outbreaks in many districts, including Bengaluru, and the devastation caused by heavy rains and floods, which have left lakhs of people homeless. "It is unfortunate that our party leaders did not feel that they should shed light on this and represent the sufferings of the people of the state," he said.
