20-Year-Old Jharkhand Woman Hacks Boyfriend To Death With Axe For Refusing Marriage Proposal, Arrested

Police cracked the case within 48 hours and arrested the accused. Police also recovered a blood-stained outfit and the murder weapon from her.

A 20-year-old woman allegedly hacked her boyfriend to death with an axe after he refused to marry her. The incident occurred near Jharkhand's Kolhua village which comes under the jurisdiction of Patan police station area. The accused killed her boyfriend while he was asleep, said police officials. Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Surjeet Kumar, while talking to news agency PTI said that the accused, Anjali Kumari, was arrested on Monday. A blood-stained salwar-kameez and the murder weapon i.e., an axe were recovered from Kumari.

Police officials told PTI that Kumari was in a relationship with Dharmen Oraon (24 years old) whom she wanted to marry, however, he refused her proposal. The jilted lover then planned the murder of her partner at a secluded spot surrounded by bushes. She reached the spot along with Dharmen on Saturday and after talking for some time, he fell asleep on the ground. Upon seeing this opportunity, she then got the axe which was kept nearby, and hacked Dharmen to death in his sleep.

After this incident, she immediately hid the body in the bushes and fled the scene, said police officials. The body was later found by locals on Sunday.

Officials told PTI that they cracked the case within just 48 hours, gathered the required evidence, and arrested the accused.

Earlier in January, another man was hacked to death by three unidentified miscreants in broad daylight on the Jiyaguda bypass road in Hyderabad. As per ABP Desam, the assailants who were armed with machetes and sickles chased the victim and attacked him on the Jiyaguda bypass road which comes under the limits of the Kulsumpura police station.

Some passerby captured this incident on their cell phones and shared it on various social media platforms. In the shared video, the attackers were seen attacking the victim indiscriminately while he was lying on the ground. After the murder, the criminals fled the scene by jumping into the adjacent Musi River.
