The men's singles finals of Wimbledon 2019 is scheduled to commence at 6:30 pm (IST) The eight time Wimbledon champion Federer secured a berth in his record extending 12th finals at the All England Tennis and Croquet Club by defeating his arch rival Rafael Nadal in a four-set semi-final encounter. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic was also stretched to four sets in his semi-final win over Spain's R. Bautista Agut. While Federer is eyeing a record extending 9th Wimbledon title, his opponent Djokovic will be gunning for his fifth crown at the oldest grand slam tournament on the planet. The gladiators of modern tennis will be facing off at the Wimbledon summit clash for the third time, with Djokovic winning the previous two finals against Federer in 2014 and 2015. Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have played each on many occasions in the big finals of the grand slams and premier ATP Tour events. Djokovic has the slender advantage over Roger Federer winning 25 out of the 47 encounters. Djokovic leads the head to head against Federer in their overall Grand Slam meetings. The Serbian tennis ace has a 9-6 win record against Federer at the slams (Australian, French, Wimbledon and US Open) Djokovic has prevailed supreme over Federer in their past meetings at the Grand Slam finals. Djokovic has won three out of the four title clashes against his Swiss opponent at the majors. This includes two Wimbledon finals wins against Federer in 2014 and 2015. Djokovic will be contesting his 6th Wimbledon final. He is 4-1, winning in 2011, '14, '15 and '18, and losing in 2013 to Andy Murray. When Federer takes on Djokovic at the men’s singles final, it will be his 12th Wimbledon final. He is 8-3, winning five straight from 2003-07 and then in 2009, '12 and '17. He has two losses to Djokovic and one to Nadal. Federer is the all-time leader for most men's singles titles won at Grand Slams with 20 titles. Djokovic is only behind Federer (20) and Nadal (18) with 15 titles.
