Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Becomes Fastest Arsenal Footballer To Net 50 Goals In EPL
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang eclipsed the record of Arsenal's legendary striker Thierry Henry to reach the 50-goal milestone for his club in just 75 games. The iconic French striker Henry had taken 83 games to reach the same landmark.
Arsenal's clinical striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang re-wrote a major goal scoring record for his top flight English club when he netted his 50th goal for the 'Gunners' in an English Premier League (EPL) encounter against relegation battlers Norwich City on Wednesday evening.
The goal poacher eclipsed the record of Arsenal's legendary striker Thierry Henry to reach the 50-goal milestone for his club in just 75 games. The iconic French striker Henry had taken 83 games to reach the same landmark.
Aubameyang scaled the personal milestone courtesy a huge blunder from Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul, which saw him put the ball in the back of the net at the Emirates.
Aubameyang turned from goalscorer to an assister shortly as he set up Granit Xhaka's goal to double Arsenal’s lead before half-time. The 31-year-old added his second and Arsenal’s third of the evening after the break before Cedric Soares scored his first goal for the club to round off an emphatic 4-0 victory.
The Gabon international has enjoyed another prolific campaign despite a turbulent season for the north London club and is in contention to land a second successive Golden Boot. Despite his sensational goal scoring form for Arsenal, Aubameyang is yet to extend his stay at the Emirates. His current contract runs until 2021 and the player had earlier blamed the Arsenal board for not negotiating an extension. Speaking at the interval, Gunners legend Martin Keown told BT Sport: ‘Aubameyang was really sharp right from the off tonight. Since his transfer from Dortmund to Arsenal in 2017, Aubameyang has managed 101 appearances across all completions. During this time, he has netted 63 goals in all. His Premier League tally stands at 51 goals in 79 appearances.???????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????? ????????????????????????????
