Ross Taylor ended his Test career with the dismissal of Ebadot Hossain - Bangladesh's last wicket to fall against New Zealand - to end his remarkable career on a memorable note.
New Delhi: Kiwi legend Ross Taylor On Tuesday played the last match of his international career as New Zealand thumped Bangladesh by an innings and 117 runs to end the two-match Test series 1-1.
The veteran batter could not have expected a better farewell and scripted a superb end to his Test career by picking a wicket off the last ball of his 15-year Test career.
Taylor ended his Test career with the dismissal of Ebadot Hossain - Bangladesh's last wicket to fall against New Zealand - to end his remarkable career on a memorable note.
"It's great to finish off your career with a win and a wicket, I wanted to finish off with a win and the guys did it. Bangladesh put us under a lot of pressure a number of times, it's only fair that we share the series. We were under pressure at the start of the match, but then we got the runs that put us in a good stead, the boys returned well with the ball yesterday afternoon," Taylor said after the match.

As soon as Bangladesh's ninth wicket fell, the spectators present at Hagley Oval started shouting Taylor's name after which skipper Tom Latham handed him the ball. On the third ball of Taylor's over, Ebadot Hossain hit the ball towards Tom Latham at mid-wicket for an easy catch, giving the veteran only his third Test wicket in 112 Tests.

In his entire Test career, Taylor has picked two wickets in the form of Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth during New Zealand's tour of India in 2010. Taylor bowled only 16 overs in his entire Test career. The last time he bowled in a Test match was eight years ago.
