McCullum rules out chance of playing Champions TrophyPhoto: BCCI New Delhi: Brendon McCullum has dashed all chances of his possible return to international cricket and come out of retirement.  There were a lot of speculations that Bendon McCullum will come out of retirement to play for New Zealand one final time in the Champions Trophy after his phenomenal run in the ongoing IPL. But the former New Zealand captain has stated that ODI cricket is a ‘bit too long’ for him. “50 overs a bit too long mate!” tweeted McCullum in response to a query from former New Zealand cricketer Craig Cumming. Cumming wanted to know whether there are any chances of McCullum’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy. “Just wondering, any chance McCullum might want to play the Champions Trophy, I reckon Blackcaps would fit him in #form #floppyhat,” wrote Craig on his twitter handle. McCullum was quick to respond that there are no chances of reconsidering his decision to retire from international cricket. Representing Gujarat Lions, McCullum almost pulled off an outstanding one handed catch at long-off against Royal Challengers Bangalore. But his hit came in the way as it kissed the boundary cushions when he dived for the catch. McCullum who announced his retirement in February days before the T20 World Cup is still good touch. He has scored 224 runs in 5 matches in the IPL along with a sparkling innings of 72 in a losing cause against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
