Markram, who has been leading the Proteas since the T20 World Cup 2022 setback in Australia, will continue to captain the team.
Most of the squad is as expected with a few minor changes. Left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin has earned a place in the squad and emerging talents Ryan Rickelton and Ottniel Baartman have been recognized for their consistent performances in the SA20 tournament.

Players like Rassie van der Dussen, Matthew Breetzke, Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo and Wiaan Mulder, who missed out on the World Cup squad, have been included. Additionally, uncapped leg-spinner Nqaba Peter, the second highest wicket-taker in the CSA T20, has earned a spot in the squad.
