The excitement for the seventeenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is building up as a partial schedule has been unveiled. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had earlier confirmed the tournament's commencement on March 22, and now fans can mark their calendars for the thrilling opener. The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the curtain raiser to the tournament. The clash promises an electrifying start to the IPL 2024 season.
Meanwhile, the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) will begin their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on March 24 in a home fixture set to commence at 03:30 pm (IST). The Sanju Samson-led sides would then meet Delhi Capitals (DC) at the same venue on March 28 before travelling to Mumbai for an away fixture on April 1. They will return home to take on RCB on April 6 in their fourth and final fixture among the list of the matches confirmed so far.
Barring their opener, RR's remaining three matches will all kickoff at 07:30 pm (IST). Meanwhile, the rest of the IPL matches schedule will be confirmed after the announcement of the general election dates in India.

Sanju Samson will continue to lead RR in IPL 2024. While the team played the finals in IPL 2023, in 2024 the team failed to make it to the final four after finishing fifth on the table.
