Video Of MS Dhoni Strapping His Knee Before Stepping On The Field In IPL 2023 Goes Viral
MS Dhoni, the CSK skipper, will undergo several tests for his knee injury in Mumbai this week.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni enjoys a cult following in most parts of India but especially in Tamil Nadu for what he has achieved in franchise cricket. The Men in Yellow's charismatic leader recently went on to lead the the team to its fifth title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this, CSK became the team with the most number of IPL titles with as many as five trophies to their name. Mumbai Indians (MI) also have as many trophies but while MI have taken part in each of the sixteen season of the competitions, CSK weren't part of the tournament for two years.
Following CSK's title win, several reports suggested that Dhoni will be admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai and undergo various tests for his knee injury which he carried through the IPL. And now an old video has surfaced on social media in which Dhoni can be seen strapping his knee before going out to bat for the Men in Yellow. The video has gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, while there were speculation over the soon to turn 42-year-old's future in the IPL, the wicketkeeper-batter has hinted at a comeback next year, saying that him playing for another season will be like a gift for his fans who have shown him so much love and affection. However, he did admit that a call will only be taken after assessing the condition of his body and the status of his injuries ahead of the mini-auction.
"Circumstantially, if you see, this is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love and affection I have been shown wherever I have been this year, the easy thing would be for me to say 'Thank you very much', but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL," Dhoni said while talking to Harsha Bhogle at the post match presentation.
"A lot depends on the body. I have six-seven months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side; it's not easy for me, but that's a gift. The way they've shown their love and affection, I think that's something I need to do for them," he added.
