Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scripted history when they beat the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It was their fifth IPL title in fourteen seasons that they have competed in the T20 tournament. While several members of the winning team including Ravindra Jadeja, who hit a last-ball four to help CSK cross the winning line, dedicated the teams' victory to their talismanic leader MS Dhoni, fresh reports have now suggsted that Dhoni will now undergo a series of Tests in Mumbai for his knee injury.

Notably, Dhoni played all through the 2023 season of the IPL carrying a knee injury. The former India captain who is usually very quick between the wickets was a bit slow whenever he had to run in this season of the tournament and relied ,mostly on his big-hitting ability lower down the order whenever he came into bat. Dhoni played quite a few healthy cameos for his side but failed to make an impact with the bat in the IPL 2023 final where he got out for a golden duck.

Having said that, he was at his best as far as wicketkeeping is concerned and reacted in less than a second to affect the stumping which helped Chennai get rid of the in-form Shubman Gill in the summit clash. After the match when Dhoni was quizzed about his retirment plans, he hinted that he could be back for another season of the league but said that a final call will be taken before the mini-auction after assessing the condition of his body.

Several reports quoting RevSportz have said that Dhoni could be admitted in a private hospital in Mumbai where he will undergo tests for his knee injury. Only when the reports of those tests come will a futher course of his treatment could be determined.
