IPL 2023: Big Setback For CSK! Two Star Players Set To Miss Few Games - Report

IPL 2023: Along with Deepak Chahar, Ben Stokes is another CSK star who will miss playing IPL for next one week due to an ankle injury.

IPL 2023: In what comes as a big setback for MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK), two of CSK's costliest players have gotten injured and could miss their team's upcoming big matches in Indian Premier League (IPL). Deepak Chahar was seen battling a hamstring injury in the recently-concluded Chennai vs Mumbai IPL 2023 match. He bowled only one over in this match and after that walked off the field. According to a report in Cricbuzz, Deepak Chahar is expected to miss a few upcoming matches in IPL 2023 due to his injury.

Deepak Chahar was acquired by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for INR 14 crores in the IPL auction last year. However, he could not play a single match in IPL 2022 due to his back injury. Along with this, he got injured again during rehab and was forced to avoid playing cricket for a long time.

Ben Stokes won't return to action for a week

Along with Deepak Chahar, Ben Stokes is another CSK star who will miss playing IPL for next one week due to an ankle injury. The same injury had forced Stokes to remain benched in CSK's IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians.

"Deepak Chahar will undergo scans to identify the extent of the injury once the team returns to Chennai. The Chennai Super Kings medical staff are closely monitoring both the players and will provide all support necessary for their recovery," CSK said in an official statement.

Stokes is expected to miss CSKs IPL 2023 match against Rajasthan Royals on April 12 and will most likely take the field against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chennai Super Kings had spent a lot of money in the auction for the English Test captain as he was acquired by CSK for a whopping INR 16.25 crores.
