IPL 2020: Virat Kohli Unlocks Major Records, Becomes First Batsman In IPL History To Hit Both 200 Sixes And 500 Fours
IPL 2020 batting records: Virat Kohli attained a special record during his half-century innings. Kohli became the only batsman in IPL history to have a record of hitting 200 sixes and 500 fours. Kohli achieved this amazing record in today's game against Chennai.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) scored 145 for 6 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday. Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli scored the most runs from Bangalore. The stylish RCB captain scored 50 runs and after that was caught by Faf du Plessis off Sam Curran's delivery. This was Virat Kohli's 39th half-century in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
During his innings, Virat Kohli attained a special record during his half-century innings. Kohli became the only batsman in IPL history to achieve the record of hitting 200 sixes and 500 fours. Kohli achieved this amazing record in today's game against Chennai.
Kohli scored 50 off 43 balls against CSK which included a four and a six. With this, he succeeded in completing his 200 sixes in the IPL.
Virat Kohli is now the fifth batsman to score 200 or more sixes in IPL and became the third Indian batsman to do so. Dhoni and Rohit Sharma have hit 200 sixes in IPL before Kohli. Chris Gayle is the highest-ranked batsman in IPL history to hit maximum number of sixes.
Gayle has smashed 336 sixes in IPL. He is followed by Kohli's teammate Abraham de Villiers, who has hit 231 sixes so far. Kohli tops the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs in IPL. He has scored 5827 runs so far.

Apart from this record, Virat Kohli has also become the second batsman to score the most fifties in the IPL. Kohli has matched Shikhar Dhawan in this record. Dhawan has also scored 39 half-centuries in the IPL so far.
Kohli has also become the third batsman to score more than 400 runs in IPL 2020. This season, KL Rahul is the only batsman to have scored more than 500 runs, Shikhar Dhawan has been successful in scoring 471 runs so far. Virat Kohli has registered 415 runs in 11 matches so far.
