Rajasthan Royals Starts Off Camp With Team Bonding Session Ahead Of IPL 2020
As part of the session, players got to learn and know about each other, helping the new players integrate into the team, facilitating a stronger team bond.
Nagpur: The first day of Rajasthan Royals’ Nagpur camp saw the players participate in an off-the-field team bonding session before they headed for training on the ground. The session started off on a musical note by Mumbai based Muzart group with their therapeutic process of making music and art through several creative and research-based activities.
The players participated in various activities including some wherein their power of focus and concentration was put to test. As part of the session, players got to learn and know about each other, helping the new players integrate into the team, facilitating a stronger team bond. The session also saw the players participate in a freehand drawing activity.
The activity was aimed towards helping the players express themselves freely and having a free mind about things without taking too much pressure. The session helped the players tone down mentally and relax their minds before setting off on some intense preparation in Nagpur leading up to the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League.
"The Nagpur camp is a great opportunity for us to utilise our in house facilities and get some intense training under our belts," Zubin Bharucha, the Head of Cricket at Rajasthan Royals said.
"We're getting more players joining us for this camp in Nagpur and hence getting closer to having our full squad with us. With the IPL approaching, our aim is to be match ready and cover all aspects of our game through this camp."
The Nagpur camp also sees four net bowlers from the Assam Cricket Association, who were also part of the Guwahati camp, travel to Nagpur. These bowlers from Assam will get an opportunity to learn and develop their skills during the camp and also get a chance to interact with the coaching team of Rajasthan Royals for constant feedback.
Akash Singh, Kartik Tyagi, Robin Uthappa, Manan Vohra, Mayank Markande, Varun Aaron, Mahipal Lomror, Anuj Rawat, Shashank Singh and Sanju Samson will be joining the camp tomorrow.
Last week, Rajasthan Royals' Indian players gathered in the city of Guwahati for the preparatory camp ahead of the IPL 2020. The camp took place at the Barsapara Stadium and was conducted to prepare extensively for the upcoming edition of the IPL at the new venue.
Seven Indian players from the Rajasthan Royals squad will attend the pre-tournament camp. The camp will go on for three days and will be spearheaded by Royals' Head of Cricket Zubin Bharucha who will be assisted by batting coach Amol Muzumdar, fielding coach Dishant Yagnik and head physio John Gloster.
The IPL 13 will begin with a high-voltage tournament opener between CSK and defending champion Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on March 29.
