AFC Champions League: Neymar JR To Miss Al-Hilal Vs Mumbai City FC Game In India
After taking part in the game between Uruguay and Brazil, Neymar was spotted walking on crutches.
One of the greatest footballers of Brazil, Neymar Jr is expected not to travel to India because of an injury he sustained during FIFA World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday. The star footballer has a huge fan base in India and was expected to draw massive audiences to the DY Patil stadium. Al Hilal’s AFC Champions League game against Mumbai City FC was set to witness Neymar in India but then it is not happening now. His injury is quite serious and Neymar would take close to nine months to get fully recovered.
The Brazilian footballer was supposed to take part in a group-stage ACL match on November 6. Mumbai City FC has already started the preparations to serve massive Indian fans at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
While taking part in the game between Uruguay and Brazil, Neymar was spotted walking on crutches after the game. The player also confirmed that he had a total tear of his ACL. Al-Hilal also verified the news on its official social media handles. It was during the first half when Neymar sustained an injury after getting tripped while running. Players of both teams gathered quickly to check Neymar’s injury and the star footballer was spotted grabbing his left knee in pain.
The team doctor of Brazil, Rodrigo Lasmar said, “These 24 hours will be important to see how the knee will respond, how will be the swelling. Imaging tests that will define a definitive diagnosis. It’s too early to say [if it’s a ligament injury]. Let’s wait for the exams calmly, evaluate calmly, and as soon as we have a definition we will let you know”.
Neymar also took to his Instagram handle and shared a post that said, "God knows about all things."
"All the honour and all the glory will always be yours, my Lord. No matter what, I have faith," he said in the post.
