Delhi Police Orders Inquiry Over Police Personnel Clicking Photos With Sushil Kumar
The Third Battalion and Special Cell of Delhi Police are conducting their own internal inquiries as personnel from both departments involved in clicking pictures with Sushil Kumar.
The Delhi Police has initiated an inquiry after some pics of its personnel's photo session with wrestler Sushil Kumar, arrested for the murder of 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Dhankar, surfaced.
The murder accused was being shifted to Tihar prison from Mandoli Jail when the candid photo session took place. In these pictures, Delhi Police personnel are seen holding weapons as well. The leaked pictures show Sushil Kumar not having any remorse as he looks cheerful and is happy getting clicked.

"A suo motu inquiry has been initiated into the matter and based on its outcome, further course of action will be taken," a senior police officer told PTI.
The Third Battalion and Special Cell of Delhi Police are conducting their own internal inquiries as personnel from both departments involved in clicking pictures with Sushil Kumar.
Kumar is facing charges of kidnapping, murder and culpable homicide. His judicial custody has been extended till July 9 by a Delhi High Court in connection with the killing of 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Dhankar at Chhatrasal Stadium. A non-bailable warrant was issued against Kumar and others in the case relating to the alleged killing of Dhankar.
"Usually, in cases of undertrial prisoners who are deemed high-risk, a dedicated team of personnel from the third battalion videograph the procedure and it is also used for academic purposes. The staff is provided with a handicam," the police officer said.
An incident of a brawl among wrestlers was reported on May 4, in which some wrestlers were injured and had to be admitted to a hospital. Sagar, who was one of them, died during the treatment.
