'Yes, I Am Lesbian': Ex-England Cricketer Hits Back At Trolls After Announcing Pregnancy Of Her Partner
"Educate yourself before passing judgement," the 33-year-old former cricketer wrote.
Former England cricketer Sarah Taylor became a victim of online trolling after she announced the pregnancy of her partner Diana in a social media post. However, the ex-English wicketkeeper-batter decided to hit back at the trolls. Taylor, who had announced her retirement from international cricket in 2019 owing to anxiety, had made the public announcement of her partner being pregnant on Wednesday (February 22) but after being trolled was forced to give it back with a post on Thursday.
"Well, I did not anticipate I should have attached an FAQ when announcing my partners pregnancy! Hopefully I can answer some questions. IVF: donated sperm from an unknown individual who wants to gift a very unique opportunity to others.," one of the best women cricketers to have ever played the game tweeted.
"Yes I am a lesbian, and have been for a very long time. No it's not a choice. I am in love and happy, that's what matters. Every family is different...how it operates and how it looks. Educate yourself before passing judgement. The baby will be loved and supported...," the 33-year-old added.

Taylor represented the Three Lions in 10 Test matches, 126 ODIs and 90 T20Is, accumulating 300, 4056 and 2177 runs in them respectively. In addition, she was a highly-skilled keeper as well as could field without the gloves with 18 catches and 2 stumpings in the game's longest format, 87 catches and 51 stumpings in 50-overs cricket and 23 catches and 51 stumpings in the shortest format.
She was a trailblazer in wicketkeeping especially in women's cricket where should would regularly stand up to the stumpings and would be lighting fast with her glovework, rarely missing a stumping or a catch opportunity. She played an integral part in England's remarkable double of a World Cup and a T20 double in 2009. She also played a part in the Three Lion's World Cup-winning campaign at home in 2017 where he scored an invaluable half-century in the semi-final before perhaps an even more important 45 in the final against India
